    Ecclesiastes 1:1-11

    Discussion Questions
    • What stood out most to you from the sermon, and why?
    • What are you working for? And what is it giving you?
    • In what ways are you feeling life’s vanity right now? What is your biggest disappointment? What are you doing to try and suppress these feelings?
    • Where do you feel the thirst for more? Where do you sense the desire for something newer or better? What do you have your sights on and what do you hope it will give to you?
    • What has COVID taken away from you that used to be a regular “escape” from the monotony of life? How is God using this season to show you something greater than that thing you miss?
    • What do you think God might want to do in you as we study Ecclesiastes together?
    Prayer Items
    • Take some time to worship God for His grace in the gospel, and for the fact that you have been redeemed from life “under the sun”. Thank Him for the rest He gives your soul, the purpose He gives to your life, and the eternal hope of heaven that is yours.
    • Take some time to express your weariness to God. Be honest with him about any emptiness or disappointment you feel. Confess any ways you have been seeking meaning in the things of this earth rather than in Him.
    • Pray for those in your life who don’t know Jesus, and who only know life “under the sun”. Pray for boldness to speak into their emptiness and to share the hope of Christ in thoughtful ways.
    • Ask God to use our study through Ecclesiastes to do His good work in your heart.
