Middle School Retreat

Details

K2 is back! This October, we’re heading to IdRaHaJe with our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders for our annual Middle School Retreat. Register HERE!

What is it? — K2 stands for “Know and Be Known.” The most amazing truth of the bible is that God wants us to know Him and to be known by Him. This year, we’ll focus on what it means to be made in the image of God – and that Jesus chose to become like us!

What’s involved? — We’ll spend the weekend together playing games, sharing meals, and coming alongside each other as we seek to know the God who wants to know us.

What’s it cost? — The registration fee* covers transportation, lodging, a T-shirt, and meals. Be sure to register as soon as possible, as the fee will increase to $200 on Sep 12. We want to take everyone, but space is limited.

Activities? — IdRaHaJe has a range of fun outdoor activities that are included in our Retreat, as well as a brand-new gym. IN ADDITION, if your student wants to take on the High Ropes Course and/or the Horseback Trail Rides, for an additional fee, you may select those options for your student(s) when you register here.

How do we get there? — Student Drop-off is at 4pm on Oct 10 at Mountain View Community Church, 2330 E Prospect Rd, Fort Collins, CO 80525. Charter buses will transport all campers to IdRaHaJe and back to Mountain View.

What do we need to pack? — There is a complete packing list in the confirmation email you’ll receive after registration. In short, pack toiletries, sleeping bag, pillow, and enough clothes for 3 days (in layers to stay comfortable all weekend).

Can students bring phones? — K2 is a screen-free weekend, so students can be free from distractions to connect with each other. Students should leave at home any devices that can display images or connect to the internet.

What about dietary restrictions? — After registering, you will receive a confirmation email. Click the link in that email to complete the IdRaHaJe waiver. In the waiver, there is an option for a Special Dietary Package for $10 per student (covers all 5 meals). You’ll then specify what restrictions your student has. Alternatively, you may bring homemade meals with your student at Drop-off, and we will keep them in cold storage and have the IdRaHaJe staff reheat them at mealtimes. Just coordinate with Jordan.

Questions? — Please contact Jordan at jordan.price@mvcchurch.org. Registration closes at midnight on Sep 29.

*Don’t let cost be a barrier for your middle schooler. Scholarships are available. If your student is with Mountain View, reach out to Jordan if you need help with the registration fee. If your student is with Windsor, reach out to Stephen Atherton at stephen@windsorchurch.org.
