God’s Glory and the Cosmos

This weekend we began our series titled “Greater” by looking at the (greater) glory of God, and how only His glory will truly captivate our soul’s yearning to worship. Because God is glorious, that which He created reflects His glory (Psalm 19:1). This means we have His fingerprints all around us, to be discovered and seen on a daily basis. Sometimes that glory is easy to see, such as in the beauty of a sunset or the night sky filled with stars. Sometimes there are greater glimpses of glory when we look a little deeper. I saw this video several months ago which tries to capture the magnitude and size of our solar system – and since Pluto and the Sun were the main characters in an illustration this weekend, I thought this glimpse into “size” as it pertains to space might help expand our minds when it comes to the grandeur (glory) of the God who created it all. May this illustration (helping us behold) be met with faith (what we believe), so that it might fuel response (worship).
