  • Kingdom Stories-Parables in Luke: The Rich Fool / The Good Samaritan

This week on the podcast, Haley sits down with Aaron LeDuc and Jacob Chacko to dive back into our new sermon series, Kingdom Stories: Parables in Luke. This week, we discuss the message, preached by Aaron, The Rich Fool (Luke 12:13-34), as well as touching on the previous week’s sermon, preached by Jacob, on The Good Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37). You can listen to the full sermons by clicking the titles linked above.

    1. Starting with the parable of Good Samaritan, we see Jesus calling us to live with compassion and availability. How can we discern what ‘good things’ are the right things for us to invest our time and resources in right now, and how do we create margin for God to interrupt our plans with both our availability and resources?
    2. In the parable of the Rich Fool, Jesus warns against materialism. How do we as Christians resist the pull of the American dream while still working, saving, and planning responsibly? What practices help re-center your hearts on God’s Kingdom when you feel the pull towards things?
    3. Parenting always brings the topic of money into conversations. How do we walk that line of teaching stewardship and responsibility to our kids without feeding entitlement, worry, or a love of things—and instead pointing our kids to Jesus as their true treasure?
