  • Kingdom Stories: Parables in Luke – The Sower

This week on the podcast, Haley sits down with Aaron LeDuc and Calder Marriott to dive into our brand-new sermon series, Kingdom Stories: Parables in Luke. The first message, preached by Aaron and titled The Sower, walks through Luke 8:4–15 and unpacks what Jesus’ parable reveals about how God’s Word takes root in our lives. You can listen to the full sermon recap HERE!

    1. One of the threads woven throughout this sermon contrasted God’s abundant grace with the world’s message where growth and transformation depends on our own effort. Why do you think people are so drawn to systems where our effort seems to make the difference?
    2. Who has been a “sower” in your own life—someone who faithfully planted God’s truth in you? How did their influence shape your growth?
    3. Just thinking through the Sanctification process, do you think the “soil of our hearts” can change over time as we grow, face trials, and learn to cling to God’s Word?
    4. This parable is also about scattering seed broadly and trusting God for the harvest. As we look toward planting a church in Boulder next year, how do you see this parable shaping our mindset about sowing generously, even when the results aren’t immediate or guaranteed?
    5. Why this sermon series and why now? What do you hope our church family will be thinking about and processing as we study it over the next few months?
