Road to the Resurrection: Expectations of the Journey
Welcome to another episode of the Descend Podcast! If you’re new here, each week we take Sunday’s sermon and descend into what it looks like to live it out in our everyday lives as we share the love of Christ with those around us. Our prayer is that this podcast would encourage you and remind you of God’s goodness throughout your week.
In this week’s episode, Haley is joined by pastors Aaron LeDuc and Kevin Wolfe as we dive into our new series “Road to the Resurrection”. Kevin preached “Expectations of the Journey” from Luke 9:51-62 this past Sunday to kick off this short series leading up to Easter.
- When we hear ‘following Jesus costs you everything’… can we actually define what that means?
- If someone’s life actually feels pretty stable or even easy right now, should that make them uneasy spiritually?
- That ‘let me first…’ idea Jesus calls out to the 3 would-be-followers feels super relevant. Where do you think we, as a church, are most likely to have the wrong expectations about following Jesus, and what’s one “let me first” you’ve personally had to wrestle with?
- How do we talk about this with our kids, especially when they’re growing up in a place with so much comfort and opportunity?
- As we start this ‘Road to the Resurrection’ series, what stands out to you about Jesus being so resolute in setting His face toward Jerusalem? How should that shape our expectations of following Him and encourage us we prepare our hearts for Easter?
