  • Amos 4:6-13 – The Lord Comes Near

In this week’s episode, Hannah and Aaron are joined by Operations Director, Dave Young, to discuss our sermon series through the Book of Amos. Be sure to listen to the full sermon here.

    • Sermon Recap
    • Aaron, you said “we think that God is grumpy in the Old Testament and happy and joyful in the New Testament” and that was an amen moment for me because without even realizing it I totally look at the Bible that way sometimes. Why do you guys think that’s the case?
    • Discipline + Suffering – I loved your example of Jonah suffering vs. Job suffering I think that was really helpful! You also said that if God didn’t do what He said He would do, He would be unfaithful. In our world, how do we wrestle with God being loving but also disciplining His children? Why is this so hard for us to grasp at times?
    • Fatherhood: I loved tying all of this into fatherhood! Since both of you are fathers, how do we wrestle with inadequate earthly fathers? How do both of you seek to love your kids like Jesus? In what ways do you guys tend to gravitate towards sin that you have to really work on when it comes to parenting?
