Amos 7:1-8:3 – The Judgement and Kindness of God
In this week’s episode, Hannah and Aaron are joined by Pastor Jacob Chacko to discuss our sermon series through the Book of Amos. Be sure to listen to the full sermon here.
- Sermon Recap
- What else do we know about Amos?
- How do we define God’s wrath?
- Let’s spend some time talking through the judgement of God because Jacob, I feel like you did such a good job covering this. You said, “God relenting in Amos is a window into His character – showing us that while He does judge, He’s patient, loving, and kind.” Amos proves that pleading with God does have an impact. Two things to break down here: First, how do you guys process through the fact that the Lord knows it all, but yet what we pray still matters? Second, do we feel like answering with “God’s ways are not our ways” when it comes to judgement is enough?
- “Proximity with God is the same as intimacy with God.” How do we wrestle with this? This feels super complex, but how do we pursue lives of holiness and not just live in proximity to God?
